MESA, Ariz. – Altitude Volleyball, a competitive volleyball club based in Gilbert, Ariz., is the latest sports club to partner with Legacy Sports USA and will call Legacy Sports Park in Mesa its new home starting in 2022.
Legacy Sports Park will manage and operate Altitude Volleyball Powered by Legacy Sports USA, which will be led by Altitude Volleyball Club Director/Coach Jessica Grohman, who also has been named Director of Girls Volleyball for Legacy Sports Park.
Established in 2012, Altitude Volleyball strives to help players elevate and improve their volleyball skills in a positive, yet challenging environment, with team sizes kept small to enhance game time experience for all players to help maximize full potential. Altitude’s programs at Legacy Sports Park will include girls club volleyball travel teams, volleyball leagues (recreational and adult), camps, pick-up volleyball, volleyball lessons (group and private) and much more. The program is one of the most competitive volleyball clubs in the Valley and has grown from two teams in its first year to now 17 teams currently on the roster.
“What Jessica has done with Altitude Volleyball is outstanding and we are excited to partner with such a great volleyball club and its highly-skilled coaches,” said Brett Miller, President of Legacy Sports USA. “We share Altitude’s commitment to offer a fun, family-friendly environment, something we are confident will make this a great partnership and great opportunity for the volleyball community.”
An Arizona native, Grohman played competitive volleyball at Dobson High School, helping the Mustangs to a third-place finish in the state finals during her senior year. After graduating from Rio Salado College and working as a pediatric dental hygienist, Grohman realized the need for a competitive volleyball club that focused on the player, which led to her starting Altitude in 2012. Grohman serves as Club Director and Coach – leading Altitude travel teams to gold or silver medals in every season.
“We are ecstatic to be a part of Legacy Sports Park and to have such a top-notch facility for our players to train and compete,” Grohman said. “From the 57 volleyball courts and 12 sand volleyball courts, to the enhanced sports performance training opportunities, we know this will not only help the growth of Altitude Volleyball, it will also help the growth of volleyball in the entire state of Arizona.”
Altitude’s upcoming schedule includes rec leagues and preseason camps (August – October), girls volleyball club starting in November (tryouts and open gyms) for the girls club season (which runs from mid-November 2021 through Spring 2022), rec leagues and adult leagues starting January of 2022 and running throughout the year, and many different levels of pick-up volleyball at least three days a week.
