MESA, Ariz. – Legacy Sports USA announced today it has signed an agreement to partner with the Arizona Gym Rats, a nationally-ranked competitive youth club basketball organization, to host all of its leagues, tournaments and events at Bell Bank Park in Mesa starting in 2022. 

Legacy Sports USA will manage and operate AZ Gym Rats powered by Legacy Sports USA at its state-of-the-art facility that features 19 basketball courts and will led by Paul Hardiman, head coach of AZ Gym Rats and new Director of Boys Club Basketball at Legacy Sports USA. 

AZ Gym Rats features competitive teams from 8u through 13u for all skill levels, and provides student athletes the opportunity to develop educational, career and lifetime team skills through an organized, competitive basketball program.  The organization also educates and empowers today’s youth with confidence, commitment and integrity while teaching young athletes respect for themselves, their peers and community.  The coaching staff, volunteers, players and families work together to create a safe and disciplined basketball environment so each player can reach their full potential, develop their talents and increase their skills not only in basketball, but in life.

A native Arizonan, Hardiman has more than 12 years of experience coaching basketball and serving as a Director of Basketball.  The last four years Hardiman has served as Director and Coach of the nationally-ranked AZ Gym Rats.  Prior to that he has coached some of the top club basketball programs in Arizona including AZ Magic Pump-N-Run, AZ Premier and Passion4Ball.  Additionally, Hardiman was Head Varity Boys Basketball Coach for Apache Junction High School and Westwind Prep, and he spent time as Assistant Varsity Coach and Head Junior Varsity Coach at Desert Vista High School.

Hardiman played at the college level at Grambling State University and Azusa Pacific, and he won back-to-back Arizona State Championships at Valley Christian High School.   

“It is an honor to lead the AZ Gyms Rats and the entire Boys Club Basketball Program at this great new facility,” Hardiman said.  “My goal is to build competitive basketball programs with players and coaches who have great character.  AZ Gym rats embodies that team spirit and I am looking forward to bring that passion and competitive spirit to Bell Bank Park.”
