BOBBY PENA NAMED DIRECTOR OF GIRL’S SOFTBALL FOR LEGACY SPORTS PARK IN MESA

SOFTBALL PROGRAM WILL FEATURE CAMPS, ALL-STAR GAMES, SHOWCASE EVENTS, FAST PITCH TOURNAMENTS, CLUB TEAMS AND MORE

MESA, Ariz. – Legacy Sports USA recently named Bobby Pena as its Director of Girl’s Softball for Legacy Sports Park, a 320-acre, multi-use family sports and entertainment complex that is set to open in January of 2022 in Mesa. 

An Arizona native, Pena has been a staple in the Arizona softball community for four decades, helping more than 500 fast-pitch athletes receive college scholarships through his coaching and expertise.

Currently the head coach of Pinnacle High School’s varsity softball team and formerly at Xavier College Prep, Pena has racked up 340 career wins, having won the 6A state championship in 2018 and finishing runner-up in 2016, 2017 and 2019.

“Bobby’s experience coaching and leading softball programs in Arizona is second-to-none, he’s a perfect fit to head up our girl’s softball programming at Legacy Sports Park,” said Brett Miller, President of Legacy Sports USA. 

Pena will coordinate and oversee all girl’s softball events at Legacy Sports Park which will include college recruitment opportunities with camps, all-star games and showcase events; as well as AIA State championships, Legacy Club teams, college spring games and girl’s fast pitch leagues in the spring, summer and fall seasons.

“Joining the Legacy team is a terrific opportunity and I’m ecstatic for the launch of Legacy Sports Park in 2022,” Pena said.  “My goal for Legacy Softball is to provide an unmatched experience for all of the players and to grow the game of softball at our new state-or-the-art facilities.”

Legacy Sports Park is a privately owned, 320-acre multi-use family sports and entertainment complex in Mesa, Ariz., currently under construction with plans to officially open to the public in January of 2022. Legacy Sports Park will create more than 1,500 jobs and generate hundreds of millions of dollars in direct economic impact back to the surrounding community, with an expected three million visitors annually. Legacy Sports Park is the vision of Randy J. In addition, Legacy Sports Park also will feature a multi-purpose arena and outdoor amphitheater which Oak View Group will schedule live events, family shows, exhibitions and conventions.
