MESA, Ariz. – Legacy Sports USA has named Dr. Eric Neufang as its Director of Adult Softball for Legacy Sports Park, a 320-acre, multi-use family sports and entertainment complex that is set to open in January of 2022 in Mesa. 

Dr. Neufang has years of experience playing baseball and softball – he played in the MSBL semi-pro baseball league and has played in more than 5,000 softball games over the last 30 years.  He also has participated in many competitive tournaments on the East and West Coasts and was a 2018 champion with Senior Softball USA.

Professionally, Dr. Neufang has 25 years in private practice and has owned and operated multiple successful clinics in both Arizona and New York.  He also has advanced training in concussion protocol and has been a member of NYSCA, The ACA and North American Spine Society.  He currently owns and operates Active Health in Ahwatukee. 

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Neufang to Legacy Sports USA family,” President Brett Miller said.  “His extensive knowledge of sports and business operations, along with his medical background, make him the perfect fit to lead our softball program at Legacy Sports Park.”

Dr. Neufang will be overseeing all adult softball leagues and tournaments that will be featured on Legacy’s eight softball fields.  Leagues will have multiple divisions from recreational to competitive, and various day and night tournaments with great prizes will be hosted as well. 

“It is my ambition to bring fun back to the game of softball and make playing at Legacy Sports Park an incredible experience for both the advanced player and the beginner,” Dr. Neufang said. 

Legacy Sports Park is a privately owned, 320-acre multi-use family sports and entertainment complex in Mesa, Ariz., currently under construction with plans to officially open to the public in January of 2022. Legacy Sports Park will create more than 1,500 jobs and generate hundreds of millions of dollars in direct economic impact back to the surrounding community, with an expected three million visitors annually.
