Tate is a former collegiate and professional athlete who was born and raised here in the state of Arizona. He recently finished his basketball career as an athlete for Ireland’s Super League in Dublin. During his time in Ireland, Tate also coached young athletes ranging from ages 10 to 17 years with the goal to develop their core skills and inspire them to be leaders in their communities. During his collegiate years, Tate made a name for himself on and off the court. He was elected to GSAC’s First-Team All-Academic team two years in a row where he led his nationally ranked Warriors to the NAIA National tournament back to back years. He also served as the President for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee for the GSAC Conference where he led and participated in advisory committees at the campus, conference and national level. His mission was to provide insight on the student athletes experience and offer input on rules, regulations and policies that impacted the lives of student-athletes across the United States. Tate’s passions have always been surrounded by the sport of basketball and his family. He grew up as a top ranked basketball player in Arizona, leading his teams in the AAU circuit all across the United States. With this well rounded and successful experience, Tate brings a unique insight and winning background as the boys’ basketball director for Legacy Sports USA. He currently resides in the Scottsdale-Phoenix area with his wife Kindal and the couple are expecting a new player on their team in February 2021. Tate’s goal for this program is to bring families together by providing a world class experience at a local and national level for the next generation of young athletes as Legacy Sports USA becomes the top destination for youth basketball.
